Filipe Ferreira

My name is Filipe Ferreira, I’m 27 years old and I’m Portuguese. I worked in TECHALTEN PORTUGAL as an Electrical Engineering consultant and right now I live in Luxembourg and I'm searching a job where my skills and knowledge fit in so that I can progress both personally and professionally and help my employer grow.

In my academic life, I have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and, thanks to the classes that make up the course, I am credited to work in areas such as IT, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineer, and Renewable Energy. My bachelor also allows me to develop projects related with Electrical Installations and Telecommunication.

As TECHALTEN PORTUGAL employee I was assigned until June 2024 for to GTSPT (previously Thales Portugal S.A. and current Hitachi) as System Engineer with different functions like System Design, Solution Implementer and Test Commissioner in an ICS (Integrated Communication System) team. This team works with passenger information systems that can be visual or sound systems in the railway. During my journey here, I had the opportunity to work in several Portuguese projects with IP (Infraestruturas de Portugal - company responsible for all railway infrastructure works in Portugal) and Metro do Porto and I was able to develop the following functions as System Design, Solution Implementer and Test Commissioner. For the Metro do Porto Project, I was part of the expansion of the yellow line and creation of a new line (pink line) and for IP I was part of the projects SIP Algarve, SIP Linha do Oeste, SIP Beira Alta, SIP Minho and SIP Santarem.

Before joining TECHALTEN PORTUGAL, I worked at Ciência Viva as a Project Developer. My goal was to show engineering and other areas in a simpler way to children and young people. In my former job I acquire and develop a lot of different skills like communication, problem solving, teamwork, organization, to be out of my comfort area, problem-solving attitude, critical thinking, effective communication, empathy, teamwork, work ethic and lot of knowledge to deal with stressful circumstances. I am an open and dynamic person who’s always looking for change and new opportunities, always open to learn, responsible, dedicated, creative and I have problem-solving skills. I have always been interested in areas focused on technology, namely in areas more focused on electronics, telecommunications and automation. I am also a volunteer in «Banco Alimentar» and « Erasmus Student Network Lisboa », where I worked as Network Officer and I play football in an amateur team.

Project Description.: Currently assigned to GTSPT (previously Thales

Portugal S.A.), within the Telco department (ICS) of GTS, performing Systems

Engineering.

Roles & Responsibilities: I have participated in several projects for

Infraestructuras de Portugal (known as IP). I had the following responsibilities:

- System design: SIP Algarve, SIP Linha do Oeste, SIP Beira Alta, Porto

Metro

o Layout (AutoCAD) with the correct positioning of speakers and noise

sensors (Bouyer), information monitors (Teleste), cable routing to meet

the requested requirements.

o Define the positioning of the different equipment (V200 Amplifier,

Vipedia, terminal strips) in the cabinet (AutoCAD) and build a table

with the connection between all systems (Excell).

- Solution implementer: SIP Minho and SIP Santarem

o Implement and develop an Ambient Noise Compensator in block

language (in Tesira) and adapt parameters to each station.

o Install images on information monitors (Teleste and Liantronics).

- Test Commissioner: SIP Minho

o Check the correct transmission of information to the passenger, both

audio and visual.

Ciência Viva Pavilhão do Conhecimento - Project Developer

Project Description: Integration into some educational projects, sponsored

by municipalities or institutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- In partnership with the municipality of Lisbon and the municipality of

Setúbal, we introduced science and engineering to children through

activities, dialogues, presentations…

- In partnership with institutions dedicated to help social neighbourhood,

we created some workshops to attract young people to different areas of

engineering (electrical, computer sciences).

- Responsible to develop projects related with Electrical Engineer and

Education.
