EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its
Group Corporate Services Directorate - Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO) - Data & Information Solutions Department (DIS) - Content Management Solutions Division (CMS) - Intranet & Governing Bodies Portals Unit (IPS) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a
(Senior) Web Solution Architect ().

This is a full-time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract

  • Panel interviews are anticipated for end of March/ beginning of April 2023._

Purpose:

As a
(Senior) Web Solution Architect you will design and develop intranet, extranet and knowledge management solutions using web content management and information management technologies.


Operating Network:


You will be part of the team that delivers and maintains web-based solutions to facilitate bank-wide communication and access to information and knowledge, like the Intranet, or to support key decision-making processes based on information exchanges, like the Governing Bodies Portals.


You will report to Head of Intranet & Governing Bodies Portals Unit and collaborate closely with colleagues across various relevant business areas.


What will you do?:


  • Help define the web content management solutions strategy, in line with IT trends and developments
  • Contribute to designing and implementing the EIB web content management tools strategy
  • Act as development lead for the full software lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of solutions
  • Provide expert advice in the domain of web content management solutions
  • Coordinate and supervise key external parties e.g. software vendors, providers of outsourced services, peer groups
  • Communicate the solution architecture vision; maintain it up to date with recommendations and latest market standards
  • Create and maintain web content solutions related technical architecture and reference documentation

Qualifications:


  • University degree in computer science or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years of relevant IT professional experience particularly in the design, development, and implementation of web content management solutions, including the experience as solution architect
  • Experience with web content management systems e.g. Drupal, WordPress, SharePoint, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of system design and nonfunctional requirement concepts e.g. system security, reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability
  • Sound development experience with expert knowledge in at least 2 programming languages/frameworks e.g. C#/.Net Core, Java, , PHP
  • Excellent knowledge of API concepts and platforms
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies
  • Good knowledge and experience of DevSecOps tooling e.g. JIRA, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub
  • Ability to innovate and suggest support process & tool improvements
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good knowledge of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage

(*) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
