Description
Responsible for leading the establishment and operation of the Aztec AIFM business in Luxembourg.

Partnering with our internal team and clients, the role is responsible for design and implementation of the strategy and operating model of this new service offering.


This is a very exciting opportunity to lead and shape a new service offering that is strategically important to Aztec and our clients.

The individual will be excited about starting with a blank page to build a market leading AIFM business that is high quality, scalable and dynamic.


You will be a key member of the Group and Luxembourg leadership teams who collaborate together to achieve strategic outcomes for our people and clients.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Development of strategy for Aztec AIFM business
  • Lead process and partner with colleagues, consultants and stakeholders to obtain appropriate AIFM regulatory permissions from CSSF
  • Lead the design and implementation of operational model people, operations and technology
  • Lead the recruitment and team build out
  • Develop service proposition and go to market strategy for new service offering
  • Partner closely with existing colleagues and clients to cross sell AIFM services to existing clients
  • Partner closely with colleagues to sell Fund and AIFM services to new clients
  • Act as conducting officer and management board member for Aztec AIFM
  • Operational and P&L responsibility for the AIFM services
  • Establish an operational risk framework of the AIFM and the funds, ensuring adequate risk reporting to the Management Board
  • Collaborate closely with Aztec Internal Functions and teams (Legal, Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk, HR, Finance etc.)
  • Manage the ongoing engagement with the CSSF
  • Maintain and build client relationships
  • Develop and enhance relationships with client advisors, intermediaries and other introducers of work
  • Deliver effective leadership in accordance with Aztec's values
  • Actively manage the performance management and development of all team members, including acting as a mentor to your direct reporting lines

Skills, knowledge, expertise:


  • Previous experience as Conducting Officer and Management Board member of an AIFM business
- +10 years' experience predominantly in AIFM environments, financial regulation and compliance in Luxembourg

  • Deep knowledge of the local Luxembourg regulatory and legal environment and a good understanding of EU and other international regulatory regimes
  • Ability to design and implement strategy
  • A strong relevant professional network
  • Interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and intermediaries
  • Excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills
  • Fluency in English required and other languages desirable

You will need to be quick to learn new systems and great with people, as close working relationships between our colleagues and clients is at the heart of what we do.
