The
EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Risk & Compliance Directorate (GR&C),
Credit & Climate Risk Department (CCRD) - Structured Finance & Equity Division (SFE) - Structured Finance Unit (SFU) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a
(Associate) Project Finance Credit Risk Officer ().

**This is a full-time temporary position at grade 4/- (*) internal benchmark:(Associate) Officer Credit Risk Management_


_ Panel interviews are anticipated for January 2023 / early February 2023. _

The term of this contract will be until 15th
December 2023. A_s this is a temporary replacement assignment, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen._**
Purpose:Provide credit opinions on new project finance and structured debt transactions as well as on post signature events and restructuring proposals, in accordance with the Bank's credit risk guidelines to maintain the credit quality of EIB's portfolio.


Operating Network:


Reporting to the Head of SFU, you will work on several projects in parallel, in close cooperation with the other Division members.

You will have extensive contact with colleagues in Risk Management and other Directorates such as Front Office Lending - both EU (Ops) and non-EU (GLO) - Legal (JU), Portfolio Management and Monitoring (PMM), as well as with the Projects Directorate (PJ - home to our in-house engineers and economists).


Accountabilities:


  • Assess the credit/investment risk of proposed transactions, prepare credit opinions and recommendations on such proposals and determine associated risk ratings and pricing (where applicable)
  • Deal with credit/investment risk issues and riskrelated inquiries from other Departments within the EIB and provide solutions
  • Comment on contractual documentation from a credit standpoint
  • Give second opinions on key post signature events including restructurings
  • Make proposals and contribute to the evolution of the Bank's credit risk policies and the development of relevant internal rating methodologies, policies, procedures and working tools
  • Collaborate with other project team members (within OPS, GLO, PMM, JU, and PJ), and provide advice and solutions to structure and mitigate credit risks
  • Review legal documentation from a credit standpoin.
  • Review key post signature events
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of procedures, support and control systems, IT systems, methodologies and working tools
  • Check the quality and correctness of credit risk related information/data input into various IT systems.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience involving the analysis and/or structuring of project finance/PPP or similar cashflow based lending transactions
  • Proficiency in reviewing and commenting on complex legal structures
  • Ability to analyse complex financing proposals and propose solutions is key
  • Knowledge of standard computer tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
  • Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of French and of other EU languages would be an advantage.
