    TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor and control all aspects of the department including personnel, budget, setting departmental goals and assign appropriate responsibilities
    • Lead the simulator technicians team and simulator engineer
    • Ensure maintenace is performed in accordance with regulatory, operational and customer requirements and company policies
    • Monitor changes to regulations and standards, and implement changes and upgrades to equipment to stay compliant with the same
    • Determine and implement updates/ugrades to equipment to keep pace with technology and methods applicable to training and customer requirements
    • Monitor obsolescence issues and determine the most cost effective approach for uninterrupted operation
    • Ensure that personel are properly trained and qualified to perform their tasks
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures and maintenance concepts to ensure effective utilization and minimum cost
    • Prepare requests for proposals/procurement specifications, evaluate commercial and technical proposals, negotiate with vendors, draft and negotiate contracts

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

    • Prior experience related to managing a simulator training equipment department, ideally in an airline environment
    • Strong technical background with ability to prepare technical requirements and tender documents
    • Prior technical, contractual and financial negotiations experience
    • Ability to manage labor resources and departmental finances
    • Familiarity with EASA CS FSTD(A) regulation, dealing with regulatory authorities and original equipment manufacturers
    • Project management experience
    • Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a distinct advantage
    • Strong written and oral communication and people skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Ability to exercise independent judgement in decision making, planning, organizing and executing work assignments

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Full time position, based in Luxembourg
    • Occasional travel may be required
    • Due to the specific nature of the position, the position holder may have to work outside the normal working schedule and/or working hours
