About the Etex company

Since its establishment in 1905, Etex has grown from a Belgian family business into an international industrial company that manufactures and sells building materials.

"A proven track record and a promising future" is the main message usually conveyed when presenting Etex to its stakeholders.

The main assets of the group can be summarised as follows:

  • The story of Etex is one of geographic expansion coupled with product and technology diversification. In addition, for more than a century, Etex has been strengthening its business through targeted acquisitions and greenfield investments around the world.
  • Today, with an annual revenue around 3 billion euro, Etex is over 15,000 employees strong and operates in 42 countries spread around the globe. As such, the company is organised into 4 global businesses, each targeting a welldefined segment.
  • Local brands are renowned in their respective markets. They have their focus on local needs and demands to thank for their longstanding presence and are known and valued by homeowners, architects, specifiers and distributors alike.
  • Etex continues to receive strong support from shareholders who place their trust in Etex and in its management team, enabling the company to make choices in the long term. For over 100 years, Etex has remained primarily in the hands of its founding family.
  • Sound financials are a core characteristic of Etex. This is enabled by targeted investments, a healthy cash flow and a solid financial debt ratio, which continues to decrease.
  • To formulate responses to today's market trends and tomorrow's challenges, Etex has outlined a threepillar strategy.

It guides the company in tackling four megatrends:
rapid urbanisation, climate change and resource scarcity, disruptive technology and sharing global responsibility.

  • Carefully managing its asbestos past is pivotal for Etex. In doing so, the company focuses on compensating victims, managing historic landfills, preventing future exposure and supporting medical research. This choice to take responsibility also extends to its employees around the globe with a strong focus on safety.
