Description
The
Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg.

We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and _in silico_.

We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and their contributing factors.

The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB.

We excel because we are truly interdisciplinary and together we contribute to science and society.

:

  • Develop and implement data management strategies and standards for clinical and translational research studies.
  • Oversee the collection, organization, and maintenance of clinical and translational research data in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including clinicians, researchers, statisticians, and IT professionals, to identify data management needs and deploy data capture and storage solutions.
  • Manage and maintain clinical research databases and electronic data capture systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Develop and implement synthetic data generation techniques to create highquality, privacypreserving datasets that mimic realworld data characteristics.
  • Perform data quality checks and resolve discrepancies or errors to ensure accurate and reliable data analysis.
  • Provide training and support to researchers and study coordinators on data management systems and processes.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory guidelines related to clinical research data management and propose innovative. solutions.

  • A masters or PhD in computer science, computational biology or bioinformatics, with an interest in biomedical informatics, translational medicine and several years of working experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a similar or equivalent fastpaced environment.
  • Proven experience of collaborative research, research management and project management.
  • Strong computer programming (Python, R, or Java), web development (HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript) skills and knowledge of RDMBS (MySQL or PostgreSQL), NoSQL are a requirement.
  • Commendable knowledge of clinical and translational landscape, Electronic Data Capturing (EDC) systems like REDCap or Castor, and data visualizations
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR), knowledge of data standards (e.g., OMOP, CDISC, SDTM, ADaM), data anonymization and synthetic data generation techniques
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to effectively organise, prioritise and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment.
