The
European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its Strategy Office -
Project and Digitalisation Coordination Division at its headquarters in
Luxembourg, a
Trainee - Project and Digitalisation.

**Duration: five (5) months & Starting date: May 2024


_ Specific Post Environment:
_


The European Investment Fund ("EIF" or the "Fund") is Europe's largest asset manager combining a policy mission and return objectives, with presently EUR 128 billion assets under management, funded by EIF's own resources and by third party mandates from different funding sources: the European Investment Bank ("EIB"), the European Union ("EU") represented by European Commission ("EC"), Member States ("MS"), and private institutional investors.


EIF is currently undergoing a digital transformation being delivered together with the European Investment Bank in the form of an EIB Group Digital Transformation Programme (DTP).

The Project &Digitalization Coordination (PDC) Division, in which the Trainee will work, is the central hub within EIF for the implementation of this programme, with the purpose to:

- identify opportunities for technological advancements and to foster the emergence of new ideas on how to optimise operations and make them as lean and automatised as possible; and
- support different teams in conducting comprehensive assessments of their processes, offering expertise on refinement strategies for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.


_Overall objective:
_


The Trainee will primarily contribute to improving the project management methodology, artefacts and tools and to inventorying, assessing and processing new requests for new digitalisation, innovation and process optimisation initiatives.


_ Responsibilities_:

Under the guidance of a Senior Officer, you shall contribute to:

  • Support PDC in the further development and maintenance of project management methodology, artefacts and tools;
  • Support PDC in the creation and maintenance of project charters and further project documentation;
  • Support PDC in the analysis and optimisation of business processes. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, as well as areas for streamlining;
  • Assist in organizing team workshops or brainstorming sessions;
  • Track project progress using tools like Gantt charts or project management software;
  • Suggest improvements and assist in implementing changes.

_ Expected outcome:
_


  • Update inventory of projects and digitalisation initiatives;
  • Update project management methodology, artefacts and tools;
  • Create project charters, scope statements, stakeholder registers and other project artefacts;
  • Create proposals for business process optimisations;
  • Create visualizations, status reports and meeting minutes to communicate insights, and follow up on action items.

_ Qualifications:
_


  • A first relevant professional experience notably consultancy or banking would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge and understanding of EIF's mission and activities.

_ Competencies:
_


  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Good drafting and synthesis skills;
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of further EU languages will be considered an asset;
  • Good interpersonal skills, openminded and resilient;
  • Demonstrate proactivity, capability to work autonomously under given objectives and organise own work effectively even under time pressure;
  • Attention to detail.
