The role and responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis, the Data Analyst:
- Evaluate and optimize the direct tax compliance functions: By assessing current state, benchmarking with leading practice, providing optimization solution options, etc.
- Process and
Controls Enhancement:
Re-design and deploy streamlined direct tax compliance processes including new technology solutions to standardized work processes, embed proper controls and risks
- Working collaboratively with crossfunctional tax and IT teams
- Help the business facing team to improve clients' tax function by supporting and automating internal and external operations
- Data and
Systems Effectiveness:
Embed the needs of Tax into Finance and IT systems to increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes; automate tax processing, tax compliance and reporting through various tax technologies
- Manage the successful delivery of various direct tax compliance technology projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/businessdriven approach
- Manage the relationship with all stakeholders, including Business Sponsors, IT Project Managers, Procurement, Risk Management, IT Security, DPO and Data Officer
- Risk Management: Assess and prioritize tax risks to establish a proper control environment that takes if into account the various requirements.
- Education requirements: Master's degree in relevant field (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Tax Technology or equivalent)
- Strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
- Proactive personality and team player
- Knowledge or experience in Robotics Process Automation (RPA) / Data Science and Data Analytics / design and development of databases (specifically SQL Server)
- Good knowledge of how accounting systems are setup and used to generate data and compliance
- Knowledge of Sharepoint development & Excel
- Data analytics and visualisation tools
- Knowledge in Microsoft Power BI suite, including Power Pivot, Power Query, Power View, Power Map and Microsoft Office VBA development
