In addition to our 2050 net-zero target, we have recently set a Group target of reducing our CO2e emissions intensity by 25% by 2030, and in our European operations, by 35% by 2030.

These targets are deliberately the most ambitious of any steelmaker, reflecting our intent to drive meaningful decarbonisation progress this decade.

To support this innovative and ambitious project, we are hiring a
Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) Lead to play a key role in ensuring that the Decarbonisation Program processes, procedures, and outcomes align with established quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.


Key responsibilities:

Here are key responsibilities and aspects of the role:


1- Quality Management:


  • Develop and implement quality management systems to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes throughout the decarbonization program.

2- Compliance and Standards:


  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Stay abreast of changes in regulations and standards related to decarbonization efforts in the steel mining industry.

3- Process Improvement:


  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify areas for process improvement in decarbonization initiatives.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance overall project quality.

4- Inspections and Audits:


  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify that the decarbonization processes adhere to established quality standards.
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies and internal auditors to facilitate inspections and ensure compliance.

5- Documentation, reporting and Training:


  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to quality control procedures, test plans, and inspection results.
  • Generate quality reports on the status of decarbonization processes for guidance on performance and improvement areas to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality assurance and quality control measures.
  • Foster a culture of quality consciousness among team members through educational initiatives.

What we're looking for:


  • Master's degree in a relevant field (Quality Management, Engineering, etc.) or comparable experience
- +10 years' experience in quality control and assurance in a manufacturing or substantial project environment.

  • Solid understanding of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Experience with testing and inspection methodologies
  • Resultsdriven with a focus on data analysis
  • Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills and the ability to exchange information to both internal and external customers
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is preferred
  • Fluency in English, any other European Language will be considered as an asset.
