The
Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences.

People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the
disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed.


The faculty's research and teaching focuses on
social, economic, political and
educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society.

The FHSE offers six Bachelor and twenty Master degrees and a doctoral school providing students with the necessary knowledge and high-qualified skills to succeed in their future career.


Your Role
:


The main tasks will be to:

  • participate in research and teaching activities (publications, conferences) in German studies with a focus on medieval studies, linguistics: develop and test new course formats
- support the further development and implementation of university teaching concepts and teaching methods by integrating new technologies, etc.
- support of the development of new research projects and concepts in the German Studies Institute in order to exploit new research fields (e.g. strengthening site-specific focus and profiling), working in research development teams, initiating peer groups; promoting networking and synergies within and with other research institutions
- support the advancement of digitalisation and modernisation strategies of the research unit (media presence, homepage, external impact)
- strengthen and intensify disciplinary and interdisciplinary research cooperation: Continuing, reinforcing and investigate exchange with other university and non-university institutions
- support the activities in the recruitment of students in the study programs of German Studies (Bachelor and Master)
- support the editors of the _Zeitschrift für interkulturelle Germanistik_
- be a link between researchers and students, within the university
- perform any other tasks within the framework of the position


What we expect from you:


  • Master in Deutsche Philologie/Germanistik/German Studies (with a focus on the Middle Ages)
  • Experience and strong interest in (literature and linguistics), Mediaeval Studies
  • Experience with University operations (assistant), Project Management (private sector)
  • German, English (written and spoken); French and Luxembourgish is considered an asset
