Function:

As senior legal counsel at Lombard International Assurance, your role consists of:

• providing legal advice to the company in respect of development of solutions and business relationships with clients and partners with a focus on our German market;

- drafting and negotiating partner agreements, client related documents and any other relevant legal document;
- developing excellent working relationships with its network of sales consultants, providing them with guidance and support on all legal aspects of the company's client cases;
- developing daily interactions with the Client Service department, providing them with legal support on complex client related queries;
- managing complaints and litigation, liaising with external counsels, in order to support the corporate position;
- insuring the legal watch (new laws and regulations relevant to our business), conducting legal research, following-up on legal and regulatory changes, supporting internal implementation to ensure the company is well placed to respond to changes;
- advising management and staff on all legal matters including training;
- participating in corporate projects and product development;
- reporting to the head office management bodies in a timely manner;
- ensuring full compliance with all Group legal and local requirements that are within the scope of the legal function especially defining risks and legal and regulatory requirements;
- directly reporting to the European Legal Director.


Profile:


To qualify for the position:
you are legally qualified from a European university, with a strong preference for a German-qualified lawyer;
you have a minimum of 5 years' experience in life insurance;
contract drafting skills and experience in the fields of contractual risks and management of complaints/litigation are a plus;
Attention to detail and flexibility;
you are a team player and under pressure;
Ability to prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment and creativity in finding solutions;
Fluency in English and German; knowledge of any other language is an asset;
Holder of a valid work permit for Luxembourg.
