Your Role...

As Financial Controller for the SnT, you will be working in a small team and you will report to the Head of SnT Administration and Support.


Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Prepare the budget, forecast and costs follow up for the Centre
  • Provide financial support to the relevant stakeholders of the Centre (professors, researchers in charge of budget, project coordinators,)
  • Monitor and analyse SnT financial activities
  • Design management reporting and provide financial analysis/reports to various stakeholders to support strategic and operational decisions
  • Coordinate project resource planning
  • Review HR costs and approve the relevant commitments
  • Supervise financial transactions in compliance with various quality requirements
  • Initiate and lead improvements of working methods and processes (internally at SnT and in coordination with the university's Central Finance department)

Your Profile...

  • University degree in financial control, finance or accounting
  • 7 years or + of relevant work experience in a similar position
  • Good knowledge of advanced functions in Excel formulas, queries, Power Pivot Function, etc.
  • Relevant knowledge of SAP (FI, CO and MM, BW/BI modules) is an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player, able to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment, capable of coping with strict deadlines and able to work proactively and independently
  • Selfstarter, who takes own initiatives and has a high drive and motivation with a positive attitude
  • Ability to analyse and synthetise. Rigorous, pragmatic and efficient
  • Ability to provide insight in costs development to the Centre's Director
  • Ability to provide periodic financial reporting to Advisory Board, management, budget owners, funding agencies
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to involve relevant stakeholders (central administration, budget holders in the Centre and other administrative/scientific staff)
