The
EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Finance Directorate, Treasury Department, Financial Engineering and Advisory Services Division at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a
(Associate) Loan Pricing Officer.



This is a full time position at grade 4/5 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

Purpose:


The purpose of the role is to: (i) price and quote rate EIB's standard and non-standard lending/guarantee products, (ii) support the Lending Directorate in all procedural areas related to the successful closing of rate quotations and (iii) provide advice on newly developed lending/guarantee products and financial market conditions.


Specific Post Environment:

The post is qualified as "sensitive" and submitted to a specific Code of Conduct. The work location is the dealing room, in an open space working environment.


Operating Network:


The Financial Engineering and Advisory Services (FEAS) Division's is supporting the lending activity of the Bank by providing services on the pricing and hedging of lending-related products and the development of new lending.


The (Associate) Loan Pricing Officer, internally referred to as (Associate) Officer - Loan pricing and Product development, reports to the Head of Division and works in close collaboration with other Loan Pricing and Product development Officer and Treasury Division members.


Internal contacts


You work in close collaboration with the other Division members and colleagues of the Treasury Department, particularly the Asset and Liability Management desk.

You will also interact on a regular basis with "Back Office Lending", as well as the Lending and the Transactions Management and Restructuring Directorates.

Contacts with Risk Management, Legal, Internal Audit and IT will occur on a less frequent basis


External contacts
Contacts with financial market counterparts to inquire for swap quotations and assess market developments.


Accountabilities:


  • Perform indicative and firm quotations for standard and nonstandard lending products (including guarantee structures, restructuring, prepayments, and rate revision) in order to provide operational support to lending and restructuring directorates.
  • Provide advisory to lending, disbursement and monitoring officers and to clients on the products of the Bank, for financial, operational and procedural aspects.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new financial products to meet customer requirements
  • Follow financial market conditions in order to provide advice to the lending directorates on the most financial appropriate structure. Monitor pricing component evolution that can affect the EIB's lending rate and the loan business pipeline.
  • Maintain, on an ongoing basis, a proper documentation of the implemented financial models.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and the development of the front office system (Rate Setting Application
  • RaSA) to channel and process the Bank's pricing requests for lendingrelated products of EIB.
  • Keep abreast of latest market developments and (regulatory) practices, assess impacts on pricing policy/models and implement changes reflecting policy updates in the RaSA system.
  • Perform adhoc activities in special initiatives related to the responsibilities of the Division

Qualifications:


  • University degree in a quantitative domain such as Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or in Economics.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in financial engineering or (risk) modelling with a focus on the interest rate and forex.
  • Proficiency in key financial concepts (fixed vs. floating rate products, interest rate and crosscurrency swaps, amortising products, yield curve modelling, debt markets).
  • Very good Knowledge of Excel is required. Knowledge of VBA would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of PYTHON and Business Object is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg/Reuters and database queries
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework and market best practices (derivatives, liquidity, transfer pricing) is considered a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of English and French (*) with a good knowledge of the other. Knowledge of other languages of the European Union would be an asset.
