The European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC) is a joint initiative of the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST).

ESRIC aims to become an internationally recognized centre of expertise for scientific, technical, business and economic aspects related to the use of space resources for human and robotic exploration, as well as for a future in-space economy.

ESRIC is implemented as a department of LIST, with a dedicated governance structure that includes its partners LSA, ESA and LIST.


It is conducting activities along four main areas:
Research and testing facilities, Business support and incubation, Knowledge management, and Community management.


Responsibilities:


How will you contribute?:


  • You contribute to the definition and implementation of the department annual budget and the midlongterm provisions.
  • Supporting the director in various activities concerning the department management and administration (e.g., organizational matters, workforce planning, implementation/improvement of processes, preparation of reports, external evaluations, audits, etc.).
  • Oversees adhoc specific missions with or without permanent delegation or full leadership
- depending on the specific needs of the department. These missions may include the management of transversal projects, coordination or supervision of teams, assume functions or roles on a temporary basis, etc.

  • Leads initiatives to improve operating policies, systems, and procedures related to their area of responsibility in interaction with other LIST stakeholders.
  • Influences others on policies, practices, and procedures. Builds formal and informal work links with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports the definition and implementation of the department's strategy. Contributes to translate the department strategy into a concrete multiyear plan. Collects and analyses internal/external data, generates reports/analysis/conclusions to be used for strategic decision making and to keep the department strategy updated.
Must Have Requirements

  • At least 10 years' experience postMaster's. An MBA or PhD would be an asset.
  • Proven experience having worked in research environment, understanding funding mechanisms.
  • You have advanced analytical and strategic thinking and the ability to see the overall picture. Has the ability to analyse and present information in a strategic way and addressed to the senior/top management.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills with different organizational levels, including top management, at internal and external level.
  • Proven ability to adapt to new situations in complex, multicultural and multistakeholder environments.
  • Adopts a solutionoriented approach to all tasks.
  • You know how to build work relations, negotiate, and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
