The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its
Management Committee (MC) - Internal Audit Department (IA) - Internal Audit EIB Division (EIB), at its headquarters in Luxembourg
:TRAINEE

_ Duration: 5 months (fixed__ start date: 01_
_st__ September/October 2024)_**
_ (With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)_

Objective of the traineeship:


As a trainee in Internal Audit, you will assist the Internal Audit Department to implement its Strategic Orientations, in particular contributing to the delivery of audit assignments included in the Annual Audit Plan.

You will also contribute to some ancillary activities as following-up the implementation of audit points.

This position will offer excellent opportunities to gain insight into internal audit activities at the EIB, use your communication skills in a professional environment; gain practical experience of working with highly skilled professionals on audit matters.

It will enable you to learn about EIB's risk management framework and in general about the business activities and functioning of the Bank.


Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will be mainly linked to the execution of standard audit procedures comprised in the Audit Work Programme of audit assignments with a focus on financial risk management and regulatory (Best Banking Practices)


These comprise:

  • Contribute to the analysis of audited processes and identification of risks;
  • Participate in the construction of audit programmes;
  • Liaise with audit stakeholders, prepare and register and discuss interactions;
  • Conduct fieldwork audit procedures and report conclusions;
  • Contribute to reporting;
  • Participate in the follow up of action points.

Academic qualifications and professional skills:


  • Final year of studies or University degree in business management, finance, economics, internal audit, controlling, accounting or another relevant discipline;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; Knowledge of French and/or other EU language would be an advantage;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Organizational capabilities, commitment and accuracy;
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
